The best internet in Copenhagen

In Copenhagen you will get fiber in many areas of the city, and you want the best internet, you should choose fiber.

Using our test above you will also see what kind of options are available on your address, including fiber. This way you can choose a provider that offers a fast and cheap internet connection where you live.

In Denmark we also have something called COAX, which is internet through the tv-antenna. Even though its not as fast and stable as fiber, it is definitely a good type of internet.

If fiber is not an option where you live we therefore advise you to choose COAX, and this is the next best option.

Internet options in Copenhagen

There are plenty of internet options in Copenhagen. Generally, you have four types of internet available:

1. Fiber internet
2. COAX internet
3. DSL internet
4. Mobile internet

Which of the four options you can get depends on where you live. Therefore, you need to test your address above to get insights into the options at your home.

Generally, most people can get COAX internet, as this is widely available in most areas of Copenhagen. Fiber was once limited to only a few areas of Copenhagen and only a few providers offered it.

However, nowadays fiber is much more available, and more providers has started to offer it. The pricing of fiber internet has subsequently dropped the past few years.

A trick is to grab you mobile-phone and go to a speed tester to se what speeds you are able to get. If the speed I good, then you can find out which internet providers use the same network that you are on and buy mobile internet from them.

So, let’s say you can het 100 Mbit on your Phone, this means that a provider using the same network will most probably be able to deliver mobile internet at your address with the same speed.

Mobile internet is very simple. Its basically a router which you plug in with a power cord. The router then connects to the internet and shares it through WIFI with the rest of the household.

Another option to explore is if there are any “antennelaug” in your area. These antennelaug often provides internet in places where no other providers do.
